I wonder how many of these people had the Kung Flu?

If Noah built the Ark today, would he include a couple of horseshoe bats?

I won’t lose any sleep if it does. Anything that makes China weaker is good in my book.

I’ve been saying the dam would fail since they started building it. All I’ve gotten is crap from everybody. When it goes, I will not care. If I have no authority, I have no responsibility.

There is already a lot of damage because they are having to release so much water so quickly that the damage is greater than if the water were just flooding naturally as before the dam was built.

If the dam does break it could be like what happened in parts of the NW of the US when the glacier dams melted. It's possible that not only would houses and buildings be swept away, but the geography could be modified.

If the dam breaks a huge swath of China's manufacturing capability would be damaged. In the short term this would decimate the Chinese economy along with all those businesses throughout the world that depend on China for parts and entire products. In the long run it might force even the greediest of American companies to move manufacturing back to the US.

That’s not a thing.

“I hope it fails.”

No. It would be a human disaster. Pray that it holds even if it is Communist China.

Wow. That's cold, even for FR standards. So then you hope thousands (or more) die because of this catastrophic failure? That very well could be the end result of the dam failing. That'll learn 'em!

Agreed.

I'm not at all a fan of china, however, I hope the dam holds. And if not, I'm hoping for a minimal loss of life.

If there are challenges to human safety, I hope for reasonable resolutions.

All this being said, my biggest hope?

No (NO) meaning not one (NOT ONE) refugee admitted to our United States.

Not one.

If I recall correctly there were rumors and all sorts of things like that about the quality control of the dam when it was built.

38 million people is greater than 10% of the United States population. Imagine on short notice relocating 10% of the people in this country. Scale of this mess is staggering.

It’s possible that God is very, very mad at China for planning to rewrite the Bible.

Could be. God is patient. For instance, the United States has 50 million innocent lives on its hands through abortion. Has God gone after us in a big way? Perhaps.

North Korea dictator has made himself out to be God; has God gone after them?

Sadly, the list could go on with nations and rules who have done incredibly evil things but still exist.

Too much corruption, everyone holds their hand out, and money which should go into materials is being side tracked, resulting in poor concrete mix and not enough rebar. Not to mention hat this rain cycle is far from being over and a good quake may finish the job. If yo have nothing better to do you may want to watch the following youtube movie clip.

The Corruption Behind China’s Three Gorges Dam Exposed (1999movie clip.

No, Lurker, gloating over the potential deaths of innocent people is not something you should be proud about.

A friends relative (non- Chinese, American) had been working as a teacher in Wuhan, China for over twenty years. They said the residents were some the most wonderful people they ever knew. Nobody liked the communist government.

I’m praying for the dam to hold. I won’t cheer for calamity.

I feel the same way. Yes they probably let go the Corona Virus but they have to answer for that. If the dams burst, it will be a sad massive human disaster. I do not wish that even on the CCP.
