AIM HIGH
A college professor prepared a final exam for his students. The test questions were divided into three categories, and the students were instructed to choose questions from only one of the categories. The first category of questions was the hardest and worth fifty points. The second, which was easier, was worth forty points. The third, the simplest, was worth thirty points. Upon completion of the test, students who had chosen the hardest fifty-point questions were given As. The students who had chosen the forty-point questions received Bs. Those who had settled for the easiest thirty-pointers were given Cs. Some of the students were frustrated with the grading of their papers and asked the professor what he was looking for. The professor leaned over the podium, smiled, and explained, "I wasnt testing your book knowledge. I was testing your aim".
Robert Kriegel put it this way: "The key is to have a dream that inspires you to go beyond your limits".

Freep mail me to be on or off the Daily Bread ping list
July 26Betrayed
Even my close friend, someone I trusted, one who shared my bread, has turned against me.
Psalm 41:9 In 2019, art exhibitions worldwide commemorated the five hundredth anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci. While many of his drawings and scientific discoveries were showcased, there are only five finished paintings universally credited to da Vinci, including
The Last Supper. This intricate mural depicts the final meal Jesus ate with His disciples, as described in the gospel of John. The painting captures the disciples confusion at Jesus statement, One of you is going to betray me (John 13:21). Perplexed, the disciples discussed who the betrayer might bewhile Judas quietly slipped out into the night to alert the authorities of the whereabouts of his teacher and friend.
Betrayed. The pain of Judas treachery is evident in Jesus words, He who shared my bread has turned against me (v. 18). A friend close enough to share a meal used that connection to harm Jesus.
Each of us has likely experienced a friends betrayal. How can we respond to such pain? Psalm 41:9, which Jesus quoted to indicate His betrayer was present during the shared meal (John 13:18), offers hope. After David poured out his anguish at a close friends duplicity, he took solace in Gods love and presence that would uphold and set him in Gods presence forever (Psalm 41:1112).
When friends disappoint, we can find comfort knowing Gods sustaining love and His empowering presence will be with us to help us endure even the most devastating pain.
By: Lisa M. Samra Reflect & Pray
How have you experienced the betrayal of a friend? How has the reassurance of Gods love and presence sustained you?
Heavenly Father, I'm thankful that Your love is stronger than any betrayal. When I face rejection, help me find strength in the knowledge that You are always with me.

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

Still too hot to hike.
However, I had an incredible day riding.
10 HOURS on the road (with stops, visits, food etc). AWESOME.
