The push to disarm Americans, such as Pamela and Mark McCloskey of St. Louis, stems from the belief that disarming the public will make us safer. But those beliefs arise from myths perpetrated by the media.
The news media give people a very skewed view of guns and crime, and push policies that, paradoxically, endanger peoples lives. They do this not only by choosing what crimes to cover (or not cover), but also by the statistics and research that they choose to relay. After the New York Times recently fired its opinion page editor for publishing a conservative viewpoint, it isnt surprising that news articles have become increasingly selective in what they choose to report.

Myth 2: Gun ownership is declining.
Myth 3: Guns allow people to kill themselves much more easily.
Myth 4: Background checks stop mass pubic shootings.
Myth 5: Academics think that gun control reduces crime.
Here’s a myth about gun control that supercedes all others: that the States are free to regulate guns as they choose. But the Second Amendment is a national liberty guaranteed by the Constitution that each State ratified and agreed to. The phrase “a free State” refers to the free State of the United States since no individual colony/state was “free” upon ratification of the Constitution that bound them together. To accept the myth of State regulation you must accept that all other Amendments are also subject to individual State regulation.
These myths are spread by people who have never handled a firearm and have never been in a position to need one.
Ignorant and arrogant people.
“disarming the public will make us safer”

I am not sure about myths but 1 thing is fir sure it will be awhile before the monthly gun purchases dies not set a record . Let the shooting begin.
He lost me in the first sentence...it’s Patricia not Pamela. I think that qualifies for fake news.
