Bible in a Year:
These trials will show that your faith is genuine.
Twenty-fourkarat gold is nearly 100 percent gold with few impurities. But that percentage is difficult to achieve. Refiners most commonly use one of two methods for the purification process. The Miller process is the quickest and least expensive, but the resulting gold is only about 99.95 percent pure. The Wohlwill process takes a little more time and costs more, but the gold produced is 99.99 percent pure.
In Bible times, refiners used fire as a gold purifier. Fire caused impurities to rise to the surface for easier removal. In his first letter to believers in Jesus throughout Asia Minor (northern Turkey), the apostle Peter used the gold-refining process as a metaphor for the way trials work in the life of a believer. At that time, many believers were being persecuted by the Romans for their faith in Christ. Peter knew what that was like firsthand. But persecution, Peter explained, brings out the genuineness of [our] faith (1 Peter 1:7).
Perhaps you feel like youre in a refiners firefeeling the heat of setbacks, illness, or other challenges. But hardship is often the process by which God purifies the gold of our faith. In our pain we might beg God to quickly end the process, but He knows whats best for us, even when life hurts. Keep connected to the Savior, seeking His comfort and peace. Reflect & Pray
What challenges have you faced that led to your growth? How did you respond to them?
Father God, help me see how the trials of my life bring out the gold in me.

Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
All rested and ready to take on the new week?
Evening, Kathy!
Greeting from The Jersey Shore Kathy.
Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...any better weather today? You and Blue able to get out?
Penny comfy on her porch?
75 again here today.
Rainy Rain all day!
So Penny and I just FReeped and Vegged.
I did some reading up on the Haunted Forest I cruised through the other day.
It’s spookier than I thought. UFO’s, Cryptozoology, Swamp Creatures, Satanic Cult activity, murders, massacres, Indian Graveyards, etc.
It didn’t seem THAT bad when I rode through it.

However, I did read that The Great Ronald Reagan saw strange lights over the area while flying over Massachusetts.
We have a VFW Honor guard and two of its members are F4; one is an AF and Marine and the other AF. The AF/Marine wanted to keep working (backseater) the F4 and transferred to the Marines
Good evening, Mooch...hope you are doing well in your part of country.
75 degrees here 2 days in a row!! Thankfully there is a breeze.
Not that I LOOK for that kind of stuff. I rode through the forest before i read about it. It just seemed like a lovely ride.
Downtown New Bedford is MUCH scarier!
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
Good evening, jmacusa...nice weather on the Jersey Shore?
Actually it’s been kind of cloudy, rainy and cool all week. Not usually what we have at this time of year.
If you have the opportunity read Wolf Pack. Its about Colonel Olds and his challenges over the skies of Vietnam.
75 degrees! Is that a heat wave in Alaska?
Today the weather in NYC was mercifully cooler, though humid. Getting warmer later. Summer ain’t over.
Hi Kathy,
Col. Robin Olds was more the real deal than anyone I ever knew about. I did not know him personally but I know of the high esteem in which he was held. Worship is another word that comes to mind. He was a military brat, an air corps brat that went to West Point, was an all American tackle on the football team, and then went to war. His record speaks for itself and no one can deny that he was made of the “Right Stuff!” The “Wolf Pack,” (WP) on the tails of the F-4s, and “Bolo,” no one can even write that kind of story.
He was a big guy but never a bully. He was loved by his family. His daughter has produced a moving, first person account of her Dad that will bring tears to your eyes. (you tube has it)
Thank you for tweaking my memory of a great fighter pilot,
Bat Guano
