I’d be OK with the system Japan uses.

In Japan, if you need a guest worker, really need one, you must pay them 25% MORE than their Japanese counterparts.

If they aren’t worth the premium, you don’t really need them!

When unemployment is at 0%, then we can talk about H1-B visas.

Not enough skilled Americans, you say? Then start a training program.

Training would shore up the pipeline - but right now there are millions of under- or unemployed American STEM graduates. There ARE enough skilled Americans - just not willing to work for Third World salaries.

Americans-1
Globalists-0

At least on this one.
Utah’s contribution to the United States Senate is ... I lack the words that can stay within forum rules.

Thank you, Sen. Scott.

Amen to that! And *thank you* Florida voters.

What IS it with these idiotic politicians from Utah??

In Japan I think most imported labor is for jobs Japan does not have enough workers to fill.

In the U.S. the big corporations import labor for jobs there are willing Americans that can fill them. The only sector where that might not always be the case is in agriculture.

Exactly. The Japanese have the right idea. If they cost more, companies will suddenly discover that they don’t “need” them.

This is good news. I’ve worked with companies where I’ve seen the abuse of this system. As an executive at a software company, I have no problem finding qualified Americans for my team.

AND, if they DO need them, they can still get them!

He’s a hero, that Rick Scott fellow.

That we have all other Senate Republicans in support tells us all we need to know about our party.

There’s still a decade or more of work to do to eliminate this toilet scrum from the public square. And when the time is right we might even have to take a couple out in the general election.
