That's a feature not a bug. The tacit threat of job loss=deportation 'encourages' them to accept massive overtime with no pay, or else.
They can't simply regroup and get another job down the street.
When one company I worked for closed its doors, an H1-B co-worker was met at his home the next day and deported back to Iran. Ayatollah Khomeini's Iran, a regime he had bitterly opposed.
No one ever heard from him since. No one. Ever.

Very true. Although I could detail and whine about a handful of “racist” incidents because Japan has such yahoos in their population. I could also detail where I was used as a resource and maintain lasting friendships more than two decades later as a result of 16 of the best years of my life lived there. I chose to do the latter.
That H4EAD thing is a REAL scam.
The resumes are 99% fake. The husbands, eager for the second income, think they are Scott Boros and turn into Superagents trying to sell them into IT jobs. They write the fake resumes, arrange for the proxy interviewers, stick their nose in salary negotiations, etc.
It’s not in the law and it;s a mystery to me why Trump has not ditched it yet.
In Japan, foreign workers are free to seek employment elsewhere. The cream of the crop are actively recruited. I changed jobs once not because I didn't like the company for whom I was working, but because a bigger company offered me a better situation for a young man with a growing young family.
My daughter in Tokyo is now on her third job change because her skillset is a hot commodity.
I remember when Freepers were all giddy praising Mike Lee and looking forward to him being a future candidate for US President. Where are those Freepers now?
