- U.S. competition enforcers are preparing a possible antitrust lawsuit against Facebook Inc., according to a person familiar with the matter.

The Federal Trade Commission has been investigating Facebook for more than a year over whether the social media giant has harmed competition and could file a case by the end of the year, said the person, who was granted anonymity because the inquiry is confidential. No final decision has been made, the person added.

A lawsuit by the FTC would mark another major escalation by U.S. officials in their campaign against America’s technology giants, which have come under intense scrutiny in Washington over their dominant market positions. The Justice Department is preparing to sue Alphabet Inc.’s Google in a matter of weeks

OUT-FREAKING-STANDING! This is long overdue. Hit them both with antitrust actions. Bust up Big Tech.

As I’ve said before...90% of employees working for High Tech have received training on the dangers of Anti Trust violations.
The laws were written to keep any company from capturing a market AND controlling it.

FB and Google have both captured their market and have used political connections to keep it, plus have now used it as a weapon to use against those who would enforce the laws and protect Americans.

The GOP-e knows this but they have been bought off with donations.
They are too dumb to know they will be the first to see the wrath of which they have brought on the USA.

Only real way to hurt these Democrat companies is to ban all H1Bs and foreigners from these companies. Make them pay Americans.

Harmed Competition...is the key phrase there.

As a business owner we want to be seen and found on Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. We want to on the Social Media platforms with positive gravitas.

Has FB harmed competition? It sure has and it’s not just political perspectives. The alogrithm alone skews against competition in the market place. Example on my business page I have over 300 “fans” and 325 “followers.” Not a big time business so I wouldn’t have thousands. Out of those folks, my last post was shown only to 35 people. 35. A little over 10% of people who by virtue of likes/follows want to receive my content in their newsfeed. Other companies in the same niche might only get 1-3% of their content shown to their fans.

No, they don’t. I know of no anti-trust training ever presented in a tech company. That’s decades of experience talking.

wrong. This is jus so wrong. You don’t the equal ability to reach billions of people and political ideas without Facebook and Twitter. It’s jus a reality. You don’t have equal access to free speech. Until you do, which you don’t, they need to be regulated if they are going to allow free speech for some and not all. Our Republic depends on it. It is way out of balance and can greatly.impact our free elections.
