What few liberal friends I have it's been made clear politics are not on the table for discussion. We'd just be talking past each other and thinking each other is an idiot.

That is a good approach to take.

What I've learned over my lifetime is that you can never "convert" anybody to your way of thinking politically by brute force, argument, or even logic. If you attempt to, the other person will reflexively dig in their heels and take the "na-na-na-na-I-can't-hear-you" approach to whatever you have to say.

This is because of human nature. Nobody likes to be lectured to. Nobody likes to lose face. Nobody likes to be proven or shown that they were wrong on something. We see the same thing daily amongst ourselves in this very forum as people will stubbornly cling to their position no matter how many facts are put in front of them.

So it's not worth the effort. The most effective tactic is to tell your liberal friends that you prefer not to discuss politics with them and leave it at that. If they continue to try and engage, then maybe you need to gently remove them from your circle of friends - they really aren't much of a friend to you to begin with if they are intent on humiliating you and getting you into an argument with them.

Many liberals eventually come around on their own. I was one of them back in my younger days. But they need to come around on their own terms and they need to do so in a way that saves face.

All of the above applies to child-rearing as well. Good luck!

“Who needs that?”

They do. Be the friend and help them. Real friends can talk about anything and respect their friends maturity, intelligence, and the ability to reason. If they don’t, are they your friends? And then it doesn’t mean anything because they don’t respect you. They have to make a choice, friends or practicing liberals. Liberals don’t have opponents, they have enemies and will be turned upon by their liberal cohorts if they show any relaxing of the agenda. A hard and lonely life being such an extreme misanthropist.

I was able to hAvew a hearty laugh in Nov 2016.

I think I will limit it to a knowing “chuckle” in 2020. No need to spike the ball.

As Vince Lombardi said, “Act like you’ve been there before.”

Back in 2012 I voted for Mitt Romney. If you asked me to defend my vote without mentioning Obama I couldn’t do it. No way could I do it. Yet I think my choice was perfectly fine.

...........................................

The very reason that I didn’t vote for the top of the ticket that election. The lesser of two evils is still evil. I learned that lesson by voting for McCain and said, never again.

But not voting for the lesser of two evils typically ends up with the greater of two evils getting into office, as evidenced in 1992 with GHWB versus Slick Willy.

“...Perhaps your liberal friends will discuss Biden’s support of African Americans?...”

All these so called Liberals are suddenly obsessed by a ‘radical pedigree’ none of them ever bothered to cultivate.

They ought to remember that for decades now, a great many of their speeches and a complete record of their ‘so called’ support for American minorities would be openly and readily available on line...AND, they’d be force-feeding it to us daily (even hourly).... IF it existed! Nothing like that has happened or WILL!

So why they still insist on spewing such howling lies is beyond me.

Leftard loons hate reason and reality and choose not to think. They are emotionalists and social metaphysicians and trying to talk rationally to them is a waste of time and effort.
.........................................
Well and truly said! I’ve been saying pretty much the same thing for decades. And I like your great use of the term “social metaphysicians”!

On another note, I have noticed in the past few years that when I meet new people they try very quickly in subtle ways to find out where I am politically.
.......................................
I have to confess that I do likewise because, if I’m face-to-face with some flaming Liberal, I want to be ready to tear into them at the first opportunity!

"Their TV has told them that orange man bad, and that they’ll FEEL better with a president Biden.
That’s all they need."

Sad but true.

Still, we have to keep trying to wake them up.

We lose the country if we don't.

Something that might help voters think:- A reporter from RSBN made , what should be an eye opening remark , (while he was covering Walter Reed Trump supporters)-He said, (paraphrasing): that for people to want to vote democrat, things have to be going badly for them. So it's like they (dems) want to bring the country down. (And they certainly have been trying hard to accomplish this lately IMO ).

Another point, in considering what he said: If people have to be in bad circumstances, for democrats to be voted in to power, doesn't it follow, that they (D's) would want people to stay down, so that they will keep voting for democrats?

This would certainly explain why Democrat controlled areas are such disasters, and NEVER IMPROVE, year after year, decade after decade, no matter how much money flows into the pockets of Democrat politicians promising to fix things.

And a final issue, (that isn't ever talked about, but voters should consider), is dem corruption. (IMO this is a massive problem within the Democrat party.)

There are many red flags indicating corruption, with Biden-starting with his son's, rather incredible employment history, while Joe was VP. That seems to show, that something might be wrong , even though the worthless MSM REFUSES to acknowledge it.

But back to the main article-Why would anyone vote democrat? This is beyond my understanding.

President Trump actually is working FOR the American people.

Biden was caught on tape, snarling at a citizen, who tried to remind him that he's supposed to serve the people, (not the other way around), -Joe said: "I don't work for you.". (And it's so obvious he doesn't work for the American people, after 47 years. Maybe he works for the CCP ?)

Libs should be asked: Is there any area, where Democrats are in charge, that has not ended up being completely destroyed?

An example of Democrat destruction: San Francisco. It used to be considered one of the most beautiful cities in the U.S.A. It's practically a no-go zone now. And that's just one example. (In fact, we probably could add the entire state of California as sample of wreckage that occurs after putting democrats in charge.

Why would ANYONE vote Democrat? They bring noting but misery, corruption, and destruction.

Wake up America!

Try the Columbo technique. It can provide great entertainment.

Also known as the Socratic Method.
