There’s not a US company that could do this? Buy American.

I guess that they didn’t receive the message about landing there.

Just like the modern NASA - using decade old technology instead of cutting edge. By the time the’ve gotten 4G built, technology may well have moved beyond 5G.

The American companies, like Apple and Motorola are really Chinese.

I will second your question/comment. The main reason being that there will be a fair amount of R&D put up to make electronic components that are rad hard. Off the shelf terrestrial components wont be reliable or have sufficient life. That development and capability is something we should promote in house, not outsourced.

Despite technology advancements...it will still take 3 seconds plus instrument processing delays to get communication 1-way...If you think the video/audio lag in Zoom is tough to deal with...imagine a zoom meeting between Earth and Moon!

So, THEY are responsible for sending that message about not attempting any landings on Europa. Well, that is one way to developers at bay.

No, Motorola used to make a line of cell phones (Moto X) in the US, but I think they moved that production overseas a few years ago. A quarter of a century of Bush/Obama/Clinton had a cost to the country.
