“A determination that the Cobb County vote was flawed or affected by vote fraud or ballot tampering would suggest other counties suffered the same malfeasance and, thus, open an avenue for the whole of the state’s slate of Electors to be rejected by the joint session of Congress that tallies the Electoral College Certificates of Certification from each state.”

Exactly right.

This audit will take around two weeks but will not change the outcome of the November elections.

And that is because they can’t be linked to any particular ballot, and thus any particular vote. It is NOT because of any specific quantity of fraudulent signatures.

That isn’t the reason. Rattensperger is a lying douchebag.

This isn’t the right county (Ratt picked it intentionally), but if they were to find enough envelopes that do not match voter’s signatures, then it could potentially call the election into question. It doesn’t matter who they voted for.

Agreed

Read the absurd rulings. Just blocking the observers out should have resulted in the ballots counted while the locals were doing so being spoiled and disqualified.

“MO BROOKS ALABAMA REPUBLICAN:
“I can either sit back and surrender and be a part of the surrender caucus, or I can fight for our country. And that’s what I’m going to do. So on January 6, I’m going to object to the submissions of Electoral College votes from various states that, in my judgment, have such flawed election systems that their vote counts are unworthy of our ratification in the United States Congress. What I need is a United States Senator who will join me. If we have a House member and a senator, then by golly, that forces a House vote and a floor vote on whether to accept this systematically flawed election system or to reject it. I want to reject it so that we can have an honest and fair and accurate election.”

I wouldn’t trust this whitewash for a second. He said it won’t affect the election outcome, anyway, so the only point of it is obviously CYA.

He went on to say he would be working on a “third party signature match statewide audit study” that would be produced in coordination with an accredited university.

It really wouldn't be a novel thing to train up a signature recognition engine to do the matching audit at scale. There are numerous applications that have been at work in real world for years.

It’s nauseating and exhausting. I don’t know what our side thinks is going to come in and save the day at this point without sounding like lunatics. Maybe Superman will swoop in.

“The US Congress isn’t going to nullify anything. Does anyone remember who is the majority?”

Any disputed votes will go to a separate vote by both chambers. Congress will uphold Biden. The Senate may support Trump.

If Pence chooses to use his position of presiding over the joint session to force a contingent election, I think it will work. I don’t think the Democrats have any recourse, though it has been pointed out that they can call for a floor vote to override Pence. However, since he is presiding I believe he could simply ignore this and force it through. All the Democrats could do then is walk out (but the quorum would still hold as long as Pence does not adjourn), or they can appeal to the Supreme Court which will tell them reviewing procedure is not in their purview.

In a contingent election, “Congress” no longer is majority Dem. It is one vote-per-state with a majority being Republican. The states pick the president and the senate picks the vice president which would presumably be Pence.

Perhaps Pelosi could refuse to hold a vote in Congress, which would leave the office vacant. If the senate did likewise, Pelosi would take the position temporarily on January 20. But if the senate, in this case, voted for Pence, he would assume the position of president until the states made their choice. They will only be able to pick between Biden and Trump.

Describing himself as a “conservative Constitutional Republican”...

Roll the video...

Georgia secretary of state: My family voted for Trump. He threw us under the bus anyway. Brad Raffensperge - Opinion contributor

Elections are the bedrock of our democracy. “Conservative Constitutional Republican” my bright, shiny backside!
He doesn't even know that America is a Constitutional Republic.

“but will not change the outcome of the November elections”.

Then why bother doing the audit? Sounds like his mind is already made up.

The problem with this strategy is that its unclear how much power VPOTUS has as presiding officer. His rulings could be put to a vote. For this to work, the Republicans must have party unity. Romney already voted to remove Trump once. There is a whole group of GOP senators who have already declared that Biden is president-elect. Trump needs to do something to make these clowns fall in line. They need to know that surrendering, selling out, and collaborating will have a heavy price. The Republic is dead if they continue on this path. Sesession and civil war could follow.
