Real numbers for Houston’s TMC:
Total Phase One ICU beds 1330, total ICU beds 2207 (additional ICU beds can be created by re-purposing some surgical/medical units).
for the 2207, 1379 are in use. 542 of those by Covid patients.
Covid is taking up 25% of the existing ICU beds. Total ICU usage is at 62%.
Doesn’t look like a crisis in that region.

A more likely takeaway is that Covid enjoys Democrats.
On average, I beleive 7000 per day die from all causes. They are listing far too many folks as having died exclusively fro covid.
My son is a doctor at a big Boston hospital and he just told me that they have run out of space in the ICU as well space to convert to ICUs. So, yes, at least his hospital is overrun with COVIDs now.

Look at all that blue in Colorado. 2 months ago 22% of all hospital beds were occupied by COVID patients.
Yesterday, that number was 9%.

Yes, there are thousands all around us daily. Now including many of my friends and family. More people I know have passed in the last year than in a decade from all other causes combined.
