This is Trump’s most important role now, to be the Kingmaker and endorse one candidate.
Drawing multiple opponents = incumbent victory. She probably has 40% of the vote locked up automatically being a Cheney in Wyoming.
The Uniparty will field an extra opponent if necessary. It’s not necessarily that the “anti-uniparty” forces are stupid, just outgunned.
That’s what always happens here in South Carolina when Lindsey Graham runs. Several conservative opponents split the opposition vote and then he wins the primary. Then in the fall people vote for him as the lesser of two evils over the Democrat.
She drew 2 opponents, great! Just like every 6 years Lindsey Graham draws opponents who just don’t have name recognition. The incumbent has just too many advantages. Graham plays his opponents and runs fake town hall telephone meetings with planted questioners, etc.
It is up to the Republican Rino party to deal with Cheney, and they won’t do it.
What if the other two both out-poll her?
Bush League Republicans will flood the zone to help her out.
That’s the GOPe standard operating procedure.
Tactical candidates to split the base and allow their “Chosen One” to be the one standing at the end.
Then browbeat the conservatives to come together so the big bad leftists won’t extend their control.
Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
Two opponents the oldest trick in the books. One opponent is all that is needed in a real contest.
Beat me to it. Two opponents mean a win for cheney
Don’t split the vote, stupidparty.
New patriot party.
If the incumbent floods the primaries with others, then a new party can endorse one of them, and run on both party lines.
Take her out of GOP leadership House GOP..
And do it now. Get rid of the hag.
Better that it be one good one. Two opponents could allow her to prevail with 34% of the vote.
How soon could this be decided one way or another?
Two years from now?
“Let’s hope Liz does not flood the primary with candidates, a common incumbent trick, to keep her seat.”
Amen.
I agree. Trump should study the candidates and perhaps ask them to be interviewed by him. Then he should pick one and campaign for that one Republican candidate.
That takes care of getting rid of her.
The anti-Chene forces need to figure out which one of the two candidates really isn’t anti-Chene and really is sabotaging the primary.
Bouchard is a state senator, seems conservative. Selvig is a classical harpist and owns a brewery. Seems to hit all the right buttons if you take a look at her FB page. Who knows about any of them. Cheney needs to go, even if a Democrat needs to beat her for 2 years.
