What a strange executive order !

---- "Advancing inclusion"

"and (advancing) belonging"

"for people of all races, national origins, and ethnicities"

"is critical"

"to guaranteeing the safety and security"

"of the American people."

How do the democrats square this claim with their increasingly strident and anti-American statements against 70plus million Americans?

“During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic,”

“inflammatory (rhetoric) and”

“xenophobic rhetoric”

“has put Asian American (persons)”

“and Pacific Islander (persons)”

“(AAPI)
persons,
families,
communities, and
businesses”

“at risk.”

What ‘inflammatory rhetoric’?

What ‘xenophobic rhetoric’?

What persons were put at risk?

What families were put at risk?

What communities were put at risk?

What businesses were put at risk?

It seems that they are conflating two groups with no commonality.

“Asian Americans” and “Pacific Islanders”

Furthermore, “Asian Americans” is a very wide group, comprised of Chinese, Vietnamese, Koreans, etc.

Sooooo...
Are the going to go after colleges and universities that exclude Asians because they score too highly on standardized tests and take slots they want to give to blacks?

So we shouldn't call the Official Plague of the Communist Party of the People's Republic of China (OPCPPRC-19) the China Flu because it might hurt some Asian American, but schools like Harvard can still discriminate against Asians with 1600 on the SAT in order to diversify with federal approval. Yeah, way to focus on what's important, Joe.

" The Attorney General shall explore opportunities to support, consistent with applicable law, the efforts of State and local agencies, as well as AAPI communities and community-based organizations, to prevent discrimination, bullying, harassment, and hate crimes against AAPI individuals, and to expand collection of data and public reporting regarding hate incidents against such individuals."

This sounds like a very good idea!

Aren’t they “East Asians”?

We’ve always been at war with East Asia.

“The Federal Government”

“must recognize”

“that it has played a role”

“in furthering”

“these xenophobic sentiments”

“through the actions of political leaders,”

“including references”

“to the COVID-19 pandemic”

“by the geographic location”

“of its origin.”

The Federal Government did what?

What ‘xenophobic sentiments’?

What ‘political leaders’?

The can’t even say the location of the ‘geographic location of its origin’ ?

reference document:
“Naming the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the virus that causes it”
https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/technical-guidance/naming-the-coronavirus-disease-(covid-2019)-and-the-virus-that-causes-it

The virus is
“severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2
(SARS-CoV-2)”

The WHO chose to give the disease a different name from the virus - for political reasons.

“ICTV announced “severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)” as the name of the new virus on 11 February 2020. This name was chosen because the virus is genetically related to the coronavirus responsible for the SARS outbreak of 2003. While related, the two viruses are different.”

Note: ICTV is “International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses”

“Naming the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the virus that causes it
Official names have been announced for the virus responsible for COVID-19 (previously known as “2019 novel coronavirus”) and the disease it causes. The official names are:

Disease

coronavirus disease
(COVID-19)

Virus

severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2
(SARS-CoV-2)

Why do the virus and the disease have different names?
Viruses, and the diseases they cause, often have different names. For example, HIV is the virus that causes AIDS. People often know the name of a disease, but not the name of the virus that causes it.

There are different processes, and purposes, for naming viruses and diseases.

Viruses are named based on their genetic structure to facilitate the development of diagnostic tests, vaccines and medicines. Virologists and the wider scientific community do this work, so viruses are named by the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV).

Diseases are named to enable discussion on disease prevention, spread, transmissibility, severity and treatment. Human disease preparedness and response is WHO’s role, so diseases are officially named by WHO in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD).

ICTV announced “severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)” as the name of the new virus on 11 February 2020. This name was chosen because the virus is genetically related to the coronavirus responsible for the SARS outbreak of 2003. While related, the two viruses are different.

WHO announced “COVID-19” as the name of this new disease on 11 February 2020, following guidelines previously developed with the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

WHO Director-General’s remarks at the media on 11 February 2020
WHO Situation Report on 11 February 2020
WHO and ICTV were in communication about the naming of both the virus and the disease.

What name does WHO use for the virus?
From a risk communications perspective, using the name SARS can have unintended consequences in terms of creating unnecessary fear for some populations, especially in Asia which was worst affected by the SARS outbreak in 2003.

For that reason and others, WHO has begun referring to the virus as “the virus responsible for COVID-19” or “the COVID-19 virus” when communicating with the public. Neither of these designations are intended as replacements for the official name of the virus as agreed by the ICTV.

Material published before the virus was officially named will not be updated unless necessary in order to avoid confusion.”

Right, but they are calling varients by their country of origin.

the “U.K. variant” is xenophobic against the UK.

Better question. Does this mean Asians will be 40% of Harvard etc as the quota system - in name or in effect - will be ended?

Are they going to do anything about colleges with racial quotas that discriminate against Asian Americans?

The only Asian American intolerance I’m aware of is against Andy Ngo. In his case it’s been repeat incidents of physical violence.

Is this what you’re referring to, Mr Biden?

Maybe they should start by getting rid of Affirmative Action at Harvard and other Ivy League schools.

Asians are routinely discriminated against when it comes to college admission in the U.S.

The major segment of the U.S. that demonstrates racist, etc.., behavior against Americans of Asian descent are the universities...

They are run by the same communists who have now issued this memorandum...
Guess we can expect to see thousands of the ruling communists arrested and thrown in jail...
