A lot of union contracts are based in part off of the minimum wage, so it will affect more than just minimum wage earners.

I listened into a conference call last week where a company’s CEO stated that they will likely have to increase prices if the minimum wage is hiked up to $15. What about this simple concept is so hard for liberals to understand??? I guess they don’t teach inflation and purchasing power in the liberal bastions of edjumucation.

You’re missing a 0. The thing about inflation is that it also applies to the stock market. In the past decade, the Zimbabwe stock index has gone up 62x. Over the past 30 years, the Argentine Merval index has gone up 100x.

In comparison, the Dow has gone up 10x over 30 years. Stock markets generally do better in nominal terms during Democrat administrations. The secret sauce? Inflation. In real, inflation-adjusted terms, they probably do no better. The Wikipedia entry studiously avoids talking about this factor, so you know there’s probably more than meets the eye.
