Hate to tell you, but thanks to sharing needles and cheating arsehats, it *did* cross over into the normal populace. Girl I knew in college got HIV because her (very straight) boyfriend shared needles with someone who had it, for example.
Oh, they're still working on that, most recently by demanding to be allowed to donate blood, no questions asked.

Well, a good amount of those with it are hitting 50 or so now as the previous generation all died off before treatments were developed. It’s a real shame that the gay community does little (and never did much in the past) to stop the spread. They tried blaming things on Reagan and such, but it’s their own promiscuity and hook-up culture that fuels it.
Same things happen to people who are aging WITHOUT HIV. Of course, it generally happens a lot later because we usually last longer.

As a dystopian doktor running NIAID in the 80s and diametrically opposed to Magnus, Fauci deliberately falsely postulated that HIV would cross over into the heterosexual populations at the same rate it infects ghey men.
It's not that this didn't happen, it's that it NEVER happened. Heterosexual HIV transmission is almost entirely downstream of sharing needles, and even then, is a fraction of ghey infection rates.
They should have joined the Society for Putting Things on Top of Other Things rather than the Society for Putting Things In Other Things.
I have to reread this article. A few years ago, I read people with HIV aged 14 years, which I assume means they die 14 years early. They also are more likely to get dementia, or HAND - HIV associated neurological disease.

You do know people with AIDS you just don’t know it. If you know a gay man over 50 he has AIDS. There are others who have it. Anyone who was an addict, girls who have been around, and some very unlucky other people. They say 12 million people are living with AIDS now. Thats around 1% of the population. But its more like 3% of the population over 50.
While it is true that the rate of heterosexual infection is less than homosexual, it’s not a tiny fraction.
These days, heterosexuals are about one in four new cases. Of that 25% most are not IV drug users.
Also, you’ve left off the more common methods of heterosexual infection:
Don’t be a first responder. (*VERY* high risk.)
Don’t get a blood transfusion (far more rare than it used to be, but can still happen).
Don’t have any surgery.
Don’t have a cheating, lying spouse/partner (good luck with this one as one in two marriages will self destruct these days and half of those are due to infidelity - one in four - plus addicts lie about using drugs) and especially don’t have unprotected sex with your spouse.

It’s not a gay and drug user only disease. Yes, they are far more likely to get it but there’s a lot of law-abiding, moral citizens that have gotten it without doing drugs or banging loose women or doing anything they weren’t supposed to.
Thinking otherwise is why the top three communities for HIV spread in the US are retirement communities in Florida, where hetero old people screw each other without protection or concern because “AIDS is a gay disease” and “We’re too old to get pregnant.”

I’ve started a research project on homosexual longevity, though I can’t reveal the subject of my investigation because the source would then clam up. Suffice it to say, the stats on homosexual lifespans remain MUCH worse than even the most dire estimates. Like, greater than 20 years shorter.
HIV is most definitely THE “gay disease.” Although the “straight” (how I hate using even that word) population sees occurrence of infection, you ignore that proportionately the homosexual male population is over 2,000% more likely to contract and transmit it than the general public. Being at most 3% of the population, male homosexuals account for over 67% of new infections. That is astronomically disproportionate representation of this disease.
Where heterosexual transmission does occur, the infection vector almost always leads back to a homosexual act once or twice removed.
- Male non-drug users nearly always contract HIV from other males sexually
- Males rarely contract HIV from female sex partners. Vaginal intercourse is not a very effective infection vector for males.
- Females who contract HIV sexually contract it from men who have sex with men, or who inject recreational drugs.
- minors who are not infected prenatally contract it from men who have sex with men
- even IV drug users can trace the infected needle ultimately to a man who has sex with men, a population where such drug abuse is extremely common
- Anal intercourse is, by far, the most common vector for HIV transmission. All other infection vectors are a distant second and lower. In fact, all other transmission vectors combined do not even touch anal intercourse as the top vector. Homosexuals most frequently engage in anal intercourse as it the closest approximation to mimicking real sex with a partner.
HIV/AIDS is gay-centric. It’s no surprise that nearly every gay group has adopted this disease as its pet cause. They know who is most affected. And the online HIV resources, such as the one linked in this post, are actually just thinly disguised “gay” rights platforms.
Before much was known about aids...the disease was called “slim”...by many people who experienced living in Africa...treatments help but the virus ggenome can be incorporated into the genomes of the cells....no one fully knows what that will do long term. The people you report with the “gaunt” look...may be experiencing lipodystrophy associated with anti HIV meds like the proteases inhibitors or the nausea caused by PI’s..so they don’t eat as much..
