I was raised in that neighborhood in Brooklyn. My friends and I would shop on that Avenue when we were girls. It was always loud and vibrant.

I think there’s a fairly large Egyptian and maybe Chinese population there now. Probably used to be mostly Italian and Jewish.

It was Italian and Jewish. My Italian born mother loved haggling with the Jewish merchants. It was a great neighborhood to grow up in.

Borough Park itself is mostly Hasidic with minorities of Bangladeshis and Chinese.

Egyptians and Lebanese tend to be in Bay Ridge these days. Chinese are in Bensonhurst, Sunset Park and the Avenue U corridor. Italians are in cemeteries in Queens these days.

Why did not all the parties involved get together and trash the illegality parked mini van and roll it on it's side onto the sidewalk?

The mini van was the problem.

Well, if you lived in the tri state area you would know that 1) Double parked with flashers indicates you will be out in five minutes and if you fail to observe the rule than 2) time to toss it!

(Exception is being double parked in the front of your house or that of a relative - then it’s a crap shoot that hopefully doesn’t turn into a shoot shoot).

Just one more reason not to live in NYC.
