I think your zinc dosage is a little high. Also, all you really need is 2,000 IUs of Vitamin D. A standard multivitamin I take has 400 IUs of Vitamin D. I supplement my supplement with an extra 2,000 IUs made by Nature Made—220 tabs for $14. My multivitamin already has enough zinc at 20 mg.

John Hopkins:

“When oral zinc is taken long term and in high doses it can cause copper deficiency. People with low copper levels might experience neurological issues, such as numbness and weakness in the arms and legs.

The National Institutes of Health considers 40 mg of zinc a day to be the upper limit dose for adults and 4 mg of zinc a day for infants under age 6 months.”

Eating oysters will give you more than enough zinc: 6 medium oysters provide 32 mg of zinc. Check on other foods for zinc. You might be surprised how much zinc you get from foods.

I always consult my doctor about various supplementations I see advertised on TV. Most give her a big laugh.

This is our grandparent's obedience ticket, which they patriotically accepted so their fighting forces could win WWII. Read the fine print on the ticket for the words "$10,000 fine or imprisonment, or both." I can see the crybabies faced with this reality today:

You may be right about oysters, but even so I love to eat most everything in the fish family including clams, but oysters never were on my list. As far as vitamins and supplements are concerned most doctors know very little about them, so I never even bothered to ask them about it. Yes they are pretty well up on medications produced by big pharma, but with many of them having a host of undesirable side effects. There is plenty of literature available on vitamins and nutrients especially with the availability of the internet, you just have to use common sense and read enough from different sources to separate the good from the bad.
