Unless I’m mistaken, they’re not usually on scholarship, so they could easily do it.
Actually, female athletes are much more likely to be on scholarship, as the rules require a balance in male and females given scholarships. Over the decades, many mens teams have been cancelled or become non-scholarship because not enough women would participate in certain sports and scholarships would go unclaimed.

Time for the states to pull their schools out of the joke called the NCAA and start a new college sports association. If enough states did it the NCAA would collapse.
