I was ready to agree with the CDC.

Picked up two boxes containing Safe & Healthy UV disinfecting lights at a Dollar Tree Tree outlet store for $1.00 each. These have been going for $19.00 or more elsewhere. They work with 4 AAA batteries .

Must be a great gig...constantly change your mind, hardly ever be right, screw with peoples’ lives and livelihoods-—AND GET PAID FOR IT! It’s even better than being a meteorologist. When meteorologists are wrong, EVERYONE remembers and stops believing them.
When the CDC/NIH/Fauxi/et al are wrong, it drops down memory hole never to see the light of day again, and the media pretends it never happened.

Now that summer is around the corner, just hang stuff outside and let the sunlight do its thing.
I use my solar clothes dryer most of the year.
Saves a ton on utility bills.

I have not been doing anything different to surfaces throughout the pandemic. I wipe the kitchen counter and stove each day after supper (not with bleach) and don’t set grocery bags on the food prep area.
I’m still alive to post this.
