Glenn Kessler thinks he’s a genius. He just proved he’s as stupid as we around here have known he is.

A lot of the things they counted as Trump lies were true. It turned out the Post's stories were the lies.
Kessler is in trouble for "debunking" Tim Scott's "Cotton to Congress" story about his grandfather who dropped out of school to pick cotton by pointing out that Scott's great-great-grandfather owned a lot of land after the Civil War.
Kessler's own great-grandfather founded the Royal Dutch Oil (now Shell Oil) and his grandfather ran the largest Dutch steel firm. Somebody posted a picture of Kessler's grandfather giving a Nazi salute at the funeral. Kessler "fact checked" this by claiming that it wasn't his grandfather (not mentioning that in fact it was actually his great-uncle).
There's a racial angle involved here, but for me the point is don't bring up family history if you've got scandals in your own family, and don't claim other people are privileged if your own background is infinitely more privileged.

It is good that the Compost gets that.

Right. The fact checker was like the old TV ads for the Maytag repairman. Nothing much to do day after day.
True story. My sister in law in Florida had a genuine, real Maytag repairman come out to her house. She said he was answering four or five calls as he worked, saying to his office “I’m already so far behind schedule I can’t guarantee them I can do it today.” She said he seemed almost out of breath from rushing to get it done.

Fact checking isn’t needed. Everything the Joe does us based on a lie.
Coverage would just be redundant.
