It’s a proposal at this point, and a hard to defend one, giving more power to the IRS is not popular and giving it the right to snoop in your bank accounts is less so.

This is going to quietly get killed, or it will be a rallying cry against the whole bill.

This is exactly correct. They cannot create a digital dollar, if they cannot account for every single dollar into or out of an account.

Every time you vote outside the party.

There is a way to prevent this: vote for politicians who support the FAIRtax!

The FAIRtax will replace the Marxist inspired “progressive” income tax with a National Retail Sales Tax and ABOLISH the IRS!

To find out how you can help us ABOLISH the IRS, go to https://www.bigsolution.org AND https://www.fairtax.org

We will NEVER be a FRee country as long as we have an income tax and an IRS!

FAIRtax captures “under the table” income!

See my post #48 for more info.

EVERY American is a stakeholder in this debate, and EVERY American should be opposed to this income tax/IRS insanity!

“Preparing for the nationalization of all IRA’s and 401k’s?”

My thought too.....doesn’t matter if someone worked many years and saved in 401k..... now govt dictators will determine that the money needs to be ‘shared’ with others...citizens or people illegally in U.S.

Requiring banks to report any transaction to the government is a violation of the language of theFourth Amendment which reads:

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

In addition it is a violation of due process as provided for in the 5th amendment:

“No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”

A lady left Venezuela just after Hugo was elected. She worked here and sent money home to her sister who ran a restaurant. The money she sent was for improvements and future expansion. One day Chavez’ officials summoned her for questioning. They asked what she was doing with the excess money in the bank. She told them the truth but they denied her reasons and said she had too much. They took it all.

If this becomes reality it’s time to cash out all accounts, sell the house and live in an RV.

Gold, silver and ammo will make for a very suitable medium of exchange.

They want to take it all, so they need to know where your money is and activity on the accounts. You’ll get an income from the government and a place to live after the Great Confiscation.

So yeah - we’ll all be equal.
