What a selfish waste of the lives of all these National Guard troops, keeping them away from their homes and jobs for almost 5 months just for the optics. Not a single Trump supporter ever returned to the DC mall after January 6.

President Trump was the biggest loser because of the incursion into the Capitol building. It allowed the House of Representatives and the Senate to stop looking into the irregularities in the election. It allowed a second impeachment of President Trump. It allowed many investigations which continue to this day.

Most, especially the people near the front who pushed down the bicycle rack fences, climbed the scaffolding or were first into the building, of those who went into the Capitol on January 6 did not actually ATTEND the pro-Trump rally down at the Ellipse. This is like saying that the AntiFA types who hung out near Trump rallies to bother attendees as they departed to go to their cars had attended the Trump rally. The Capitol building was breached before Trump even finished speaking.
