I think ETCM is right, a lot of people were kept in the dark as appears from the information below, and by whom?
The White House was communicated with 3 times in early March, and Ruddy Juliani hosted Dr. Vladimir Zelenko on his show. Dr. Zelenko on March 23, 2020 sent his low cost outpatient treatment for Covid to health professionals worldwide with ccs to President Trump and Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows. This letter explained that ZINC was a VIRUS KILLER/STOPPER, HCQ helped get zinc into infected cells, Azithromycin protected lungs from bacterial infection, and VERY EARLY TREATMENT WAS ESSENTIAL. Dr. Z also sent WH an 11 part plan for attacking Covid and saving many lives. I don’t remember ever hearing about that plan at all.
President Trump and Dr. Fauci both spoke of HCQ and mentioned zinc a few times, but never explaining that zinc is a virus killer/stopper. Subsequently, only HCQ was mentioned. Then on May 14, 2020, Dr. Fauci announced an NIH study of HCQ and Azithromycin in hospitalized patients, NO MENTION OF ZINC OR EARLY TREATMENT. Later Dr. Birx reported she felt there was a Covid agenda at the White House she was being kept ignorant of. On a fall Stephen Cobert show Gov. Cuomo bitched that Mark Meadows kept bugging him to test HCQ in NY hospitals (no mention of zinc in that show).
So, some questions. Did President Trump or Mark Meadows ever see Dr. Z’s letter? Was the very short letter withheld from Trump because he liked short reports, or because some other agenda was afoot? Did Dr. Fauci see Dr. Z’s letter, if so, why did he drop zinc and proposed a study without it and not with early patients? Did Dr. Birx ever see Dr. Z’s letter?

At this time Dr. Fauci was very strong in his support of the Gilead Sciences Covid drug Remdesivir which had benefited from much NIH basic research for which testing had recently begun. The Dr. Z’s 3 drug protocol cost about $20 a course of treatment. It was reported that insurance costs per course of treatment for Remdesivir would be around $3,000. Personally, I heard Dr Z talk about zinc early on. Hence why I got my tonic water, zinc, and D (I was already taking D). But, you’re right. Zinc was left out of the conversations.

By law the FDA is unable to grant an EUA if there is an effective, available alternative.
