When leftists say “science” they are not talking about the scientific method. They are referring to the pronouncements of the pseudoscientific leftist priesthood that serves the leftist agenda.
No one else’s observations, research, and experimentation can be accepted because they are not members of the priesthood. To be a member of the priesthood requires absolute adherence to the leftist narrative of the day.
That is why the science is both “settled” and “evolving”. Their priesthood is protecting the narrative when they call it “settled” and tracking to the daily version of the narrative when they say it has “evolved”.

I guess that “dynamic process” includes flip-flopping around.
So if science evolves does that mean we can not use science as the standard for truth? Is there some other force that determines the direction of scientific evolution? But of course. For some it is politics. For others it is religion. For a few it is the accumulation of wealth, aka Fauci et al.

Lockdowns are ar BEST a time shifting mechanism

Short of permanent lock down nothing fits going to change that
