Some of the USO shows we saw in Thailand in the 70's had pretty boy singers and dancers. They were mostly cover bands from the Philippines. They could fool you while on stage.
Once they got closer than that, the overdone makeup and overly flamboyant clothes were a give away.
One other give away to me, was guys smell like guys, women smell like women. You can't fool mother nature.
