This is my understanding. Because of international laws concerning countries at war, you will never see another country declare war. They can fight and kill all they want, but once they declare war all sorts of trade and shipping restrictions come in to play. Whole areas of the world would no longer be open to dealing with belligerents as they will remain “neutral.” Thus belligerent nations cargo and warships would no longer be accorded port privilege’s except under certain circumstances.
Since our present “wars” never end, the economic impact would be severe and last as long as the “war” lasted.
