If Three Gorges has a catastrophic failure, there goes Nanking and Shanghai.
Of course I can imagine Biden bringing in “refugees” (All Leftists subscribe to the ‘let no crisis go to waste’ so I could see them sending a million refugees(spies) here) and sending food aid, but my focus in that post was different.
If there were a breach of the Three Gorges Dam and it wiped out the entire 90 million card carrying members of the Chinese Communist Party, I would view that as unfortunate for them but better for the world since I view them as the locus of tyranny and evil in our current and future world.
But I would not feel the same about any of the rest of the 1.3 billion who might be affected directly or indirectly. Not wishing that misery on them. I would have human compassion for them.
For the Chinese Communist Party, not so much.
If it suited them ideologically, they would murder a billion people and not bat an eye. They have shown they have no problem with murdering tens or hundreds of millions of their own people for ideological purposes, one can only imagine the contempt and devaluing of human life that would be evident if they were going to murder non-Chinese.
The Chinese are one of the most racist countries on earth, and they don’t place any value on non-Chinese, never mind Chinese they disagree with.
Yes. I read that book about the Johnstown Flood, and Three Gorges would be far, far worse, no doubt.
I recall reading about the train engineer, driving his train just in front the the onrushing flood, frantically blowing his whistle to warn people.
I can’t imagine that nightmare scene.

Think of it as Eminent Domain, run by evil people who have contempt for you, and no recognition of any individual rights or individual hardship.
That is Communist China. They build rocket launch pads that put citizens squarely in the path of disaster in the event of a failure. A failed launch wiped out a town some years ago, and recently, just missed hitting a grammar school.
