That was fast. Barely a week.
Well, not my monkey, not my circus. We’ve spent way too much blood, treasure, and time there. Graveyard of empires.

When I was in the army, we were trained to destroy equipment that would be left behind.
However, if some well hidden tracking devices were on the equipment, the military could find where the Taliban is located. After listening to the current crowd of military leaders, winning would not be a priority.

I think that President Biden, as commander in chief, should have ordered weapons sent to secured sites with our Afghan allies or ordered them destroyed before pullout. Sadly, neither our President nor his staff had the mental acuity to navigate this situation. I could be wrong, but I remember reading that the Army Command in Vietnam ordered the weapons destroyed.

It’s an impeachable offense. If this were Trump, the Articles of Impeachment would already be drawn up.

He did it again. This is Obama’s in-you-face way of getting arms to our enemies.

Vietnam II. Any bets on how many days to a repeat of the Saigon Embassy evacuation? I wouldn't doubt it a bit, except for the news coverage.
The media reports the Saigon Embassy evacuation as the the North Vietnamese kicking our military's ass and forcing us to leave with our tails tucked between our legs.
This time they'll report what a strong, brave and humanitarian thing Joe Biden did in managing the evacuation.

Officially, the equipment was not abandoned, but turned over to the Afghan National Army. Of course, everyone involved knew it would soon end up in the hands of the Taliban. No matter. The illusion had to be maintained, at least for a little while.
