Exactly. The FAA has rules in place to prevent pilots from operating a aircraft while under the influence. Why can’t we have something similar for Cannabis?

It’s funny that on the one thread we’ve got people talking about whether or not folks even want their prepandemic freedom back. And on this thread we’ve got people complaining about getting their pre-failed WOD freedom back. Really folks, regardless of your opinion on drugs the last 50 years have proven irrefutably that making them illegals stops NO ONE. But sure does shred the Bill of Rights.
Ah, there it is. Old Upchuck Schumer would never propose anything without lots of opportunity to get his hands on other people's money. What a piece of low-life vermin he is.
Maybe it’s just the right thing to do. I know we never expect that from government, but once in a while accidents happen.
“A sedated public, which is stone cold stupid even when sober, is the delight of the political class.”
Thank you. It amazes how many of the FR stoner contingent just don’t get it (and are blinded to reality by their own personal desire to get high). Why are Soros and his ilk pushing so hard to promote the use of this drug? They want a population that’s too stoned and stupid to oppose them. Cannabis is perfect in this regard. I’m sorry, stoners, whenever you’re on the same side as Soros and Schumer, you’re on the wrong side.
Cancer ought to be the least of anyone’s concerns with weed, and that should tell them something.
Let's revisit that comment 25 years from now when trial lawyers sue Cannabis dispensaries for knowingly selling carcinogens to their clients...
Weed should be off the Schedule I list of drugs. Fentanyl isn’t even a Schedule I drug. There are enough studies out there that show there are valid medical uses for cannabis. I don’t particularly care if recreational use is legalized or not but there’s no reason to have a cancer patient become a criminal in any sense just to keep their appetite up during treatment.
As far as the politics of it go, I’m surprised this wasn’t held off until September of next year. The media could have made this a big thing for the midterm electiona.
Can liquor stores be sued?
“One big happy, high sinking nation.”
I don’t think it would be that way. I think a good number would quickly die from overdoses. Some might be dissuaded from trying it by seeing that. Certainly related violent crime would decrease. The biggest win would be the enormous limitation on government power it would provide. I say let them have all the dope they want.
Dopers never get to the point , you’re too high to figure out where your going and get lost half way thru your thought process. That and I cant understand you because you make my skin crawl.
“and tobacco can give you lung cancer.”
You do know that marijuana is smoked, right?
When’s the last time you saw someone smoking tobacco with a bong?
Marijuana is just as bad as tobacco at causing lung cancer, maybe even worse due to how pot is deeply inhaled to speed the buzz. No one smokes tobacco like that. Medicinal use bull shit.
Yup...keep your ‘base’ stupid, lazy and high. THAT is some agenda
That’s the funny thing. I’ve never smoked. And I happen to be an aviator as well, so I feel uniquely qualified to talk about that. But please, do go on :)
I guess you mean the small margin left after fraud takes care of the rest.
Taxed enough already.
Not yet.
As for the use of cannabis, it can be used safely (i.e. ingestion), but not by smoking it.
And therein lies the problem, since the majority of people who have used alcohol have done so without harming their health, where the same is not true for tobacco products.
And since the act smoking cannabis also produces carcinogens (burning any material tends to create many nasty byproducts), lung cancers will also appear over time with that population.
At this time it would be hard to single out the cause of lung cancer due to smoking cannabis, since many of those users also smoke tobacco, but as tobacco use continues to decrease, this will become easier to detect.
Then the trial lawyers will show up, but since they are leftists they will go after the companies, not the government that legalized it.
Speak for yourself! Hic...
Paper airplanes dont make you an “ aviator”.
