The virus seemed to be a pretty effective killer in the US last year at 300K, with 300K more by June of this year. Douubling in six months even under strict controls.

You really believe the numbers? Are you from a place with "strict controls"? because the majority of people have not been. We quit wearing masks early last summer. Our three week lockdown was in April 2020. The kids went back to school mask free with no distancing late last summer. This county of 24,000 has had 60 deaths in 1 1/2 years, all old, very unhealthy people who would have died within that 1 1/2 years from something. Those big blue city/state hospitals have been lying their arses off.

1) Sending them home with no treatments until they are dying

I’m moving to your town lol! I’m in SoCal between LA and SDiego.

I’ll try to describe the Newsom seige: We are in a neverending pandemic, transitioning from staying home with curfews, to no travel outside our home county except for emergencies, to curfews again, no gatherings or parties, to early shopping hours for seniors, to masks inside outside and when asleep (kidding about the sleep thing). Groceries open, except for farmers markets, pharms open, walmart and costco open. They used to temp check, now they don’t. Most in construction trades laid off. My nephew who works for the phone co has been working at home for over a year and has been told not to expect to go back until the new year (they were supposed to go back June).

Until June 15th of this year: restaurants were closed, most food was call in for pickup or delivery, a few w/outside tables. A lot of restaurants are still doing pickup only because they don’t have server staff. Schools closed, parks closed, shopping centers closed, no dentists, no doctors, no vets, no haircuts. Surgeries backlogged by months, started again about April?. No elective surgeries or surgeries that can be postponed. Finally got a dentist appt 2 months ago for an appointment 30 days later. Dentist was double-masked and visored. Doctors (5 week wait for an annual rx-refill appointment) are seeing patients again but most won’t see patients with a cough or runny nose - go to the hospital for that says the signs on their door.

As of yesterday, we’re back on masks indoors. Travelers from other states were supposed to self-quarantine for 14 days or have proof of vaccination but it was never enforced and so was abused. Messicans never stopped Sat night partying with bands and dozens of guests. Most went underground with their businesses since most of their clients are hispanic and nobody’s going to rat them out. Harsh but true. Drug overdoses are thru the roof - CCP Fentenyl mostly. Morgues are finally clearing their backlogs but no large funerals unless you’re special. Meanwhile our political and elite critters continue to party like it’s 1999.

I had to go off the ranch today for the 4th time in 18 months and noticed that most adults were unmasked but kids were masked. Wierd. I predict no relief in sight for California before next year and I’ll be surprised if they open public school on time in September. Nobody that’s union or govt wants to work now they’ve had a taste of extended paid time off with $2K bonuses.
