I, too, understand that he’s not a veteran. He was planning to sign up, but then was halted by fate. He’s young. He appears eager to please his establishment superiors, which is actually kind of endearing. He’s green, but has promise. Again, he’s really young- and young idealists can be lead astray rather easily. Cawthorn does appear to be honest in his speaking and motives, however, i don’t believe that he has quickened.
