I'm so sick of the Simone Biles nonsense. It's a shame more people aren't talking about this wonderful story and what I believe the Olympics spirit is all about.
No UberEats commercials, no pre-Olympics coronation. Just a humble teenager from the sticks of Alaska coming out of nowhere to win the gold as her friends and family go nuts watching her do it.

She can swim to Russia from her house.

Saw this last night. Heartwarming! It was old time sports, the stuff of Frank Capra movies. Loved it!

You probably have to learn to swim really fast in Alaska.

Indeed. Polar bears can swim 25 MPH. Humans can swim 28 to 30 MPH. It’d be close!

I did not see anyone taking a knee.
Shame on those who do.

“I’m so sick of the Simone Biles nonsense. “
It’s not nonsense.
She’s a tremendous American athlete.
I hope she recovers and kicks butt on Thursday.

Humans can swim 28 to 30 MPH.
Only if they’re being dragged by a ski boat.

You swim faster for your life than you do for lunch.

She’s not injured. She quit. She quit on her country, her team and herself.

Gosh, I didn’t realize I could do that.

Training in ice cold heavy seawater probably builds strength and endurance so that swimming through a warm chlorine pool is a breeze!

Indeed. Polar bears can swim 25 MPH. Humans can swim 28 to 30 MPH. It’d be close! I believe your numbers are way, way, off.
It is not easy for large ships to make way at 25 mph.
This article says polar bears can swim at 6.2 mph.
Lydia Jacoby's Olympic win was at 3.22 mph.
