The “Founding stock” of Texas, New Mexico-and some other places in what is now the USA were Hispanic-of Spanish and Native American ancestry. My ancestors-I’m Hispanic-were ranching in W Texas and New Mexico-all Spanish territory-by 1790-is that American enough for you? They didn’t “create Mexico” here, either-any more than the French created France in Louisiana, parts of other states and a lot of Canada...

Yes, we are considered white-most of us are Caucasian-so are a lot of Native Americans for that matter-all mixed up for centuries-I can assure you that I do not have much in common with the tribes of Africa or Aborigines in Australia/New Zealand, etc-I even have a college education, as do most of my relatives and neighbors-there are even doctors, scientists and lawyers in the family-gasp! The Mayan and Aztec natives are who are coming in from the South. They are very short, with almost or no European heritage. These people are not from Latin stock, or Hispanic. They have been living in South and Central America for many generations. That is who I was referring to. They are not compatible with Western Civilization, preferring to live under a heavy hand.

Well, I guess it depends on the racial catagories you adopt. Growing up in grade school (when it was a saner time,) we learned there were 3 predominant “racial stocks.” Where the native Americans fell is up for debate.

Caucasoid covers a wide range of people groups, including the vast majority of Europeans, both east and west, Russians, and even what would be called today “hispanic.” I consider all Caucasoids “white.”
Native Americans came across from East Asia, so they would be considered Mongoloid.
It may be time to, rather than talking about “white”, to instead talk about European-American, defined as a person
predominantly descended from Native Europeans

Abstract
The genetic distances between the American Indians and the three major races of man, Caucasoids, Negroids and Mongoloids, were determined by using gene frequency data on 14 blood group and 12 protein loci. The results support the general view that the ancestry of the American Indian is predominantly Mongoloid. Using 30,000 years as the separation time between the American Indian and Mongoloid, the divergence time between the three major races of man was estimated to be 33,000-92,000 years.
