No, it’s not convenient and easy, but it can be done for a handful of cases. But it’s not a widespread system that can handle volume. Also they would be very useful for restaurants, concerts, etc.
One has to wonder with the mickey-mouse ‘covid cards’ that were issued at my CVS vaccination sites, filled out in ink by a disinterested college kid in illegible scrawl, just how the heck Hawaii (or any interested party) would be able to verify authenticity?
tomshardware.com recommends medium weight card stock.
Those are rules and not laws. I don’t see how one can be fined for breaking a rule.
“I’m actually against a stiff fine and detention beyond 10 days quarantine.
Why does Hawaii get to be the only state that can enforce its borders with heavy penalties?”
???
Has Ige been vaccinated multiple times?
Just curious.
Meanwhile, the server with Hep A can go right on serving you...
When you get the vaccine the information is entered into a database and sent to the local health director.
The printed dimensions of that version of the card are 4.25” x 3.5”, 120# white card stock, black ink.
In the perfect world, perhaps. But ‘Real World’ says that this program is about as authentic as taking off your shoes & belt at the airport. It’s for show and deterence value.
Good add. Thanks.
Scuttlebutt about the webs had pegged the physical card size at 4x3, and nobody I’d seen anywhere had sussed up the paper weight.
Did you measure a printed card or pull dims from the PDF?
I got the card specs back in February, but the source is no longer up or I can’t find it. The 8/17/2020 version of the card is 4.25”x3.5” printed on 120#. Staples carries 110# card stock. In the spec I read they said providers could print additional cards as needed and then they described the size and card weight.
I believe emergency orders have the force of law. Like an emergency curfew declared because of violence. The point is, they acted no differently than Newsom. The requirements for travel to Hawaii didn’t apply to them. They acted like elitists. If they did not like the requirements, they should have chosen a different vacation. They got caught cheating while others, such as my brother, went through the very difficult process to take a trip there.
Those specs are getting scarce.
I DID find the 4x3 card, tho.
It’s formatted to fit 4.58 x 3.58 paper, and has cut guide lines to trim it to 4x3. That’s the 9/3/2020 version.
No idea if it’s the same paper weight; I haven’t held one in my hand, but 120# — that’s no mere postcard.
