Actually, it’s soft serve ice milk. Ice cream must have 5% milk fat solids to qualify as ice cream.
Further Taylor admits in financials that 25% of their revenue is repairing the intentionally defective machines they make, the only machines that a McDonalds franchisee can legally use, that only Taylor is allowed to service by contract. It’s a scam that only democrats could have come up with. I don’t know how there hasn’t been multiple lawsuits...but democrats.
Hopper fed soft serve machines aren’t that complicated. Remote pressurized pumps complicate matters.
If our kids don’t start attending trade schools instead of these Marxists universities our country is SCREWED!! This is just one example of how much money a skilled tradesman can make due to demand of being able to find such people!! These kids today are just stupid you can get through a good trade school in 2 years and get out making a ton of money, welders, electricians, plumbers, are ALL in huge demand YET these kids waste their money on 4-6 years of an utterly USELESS degree that EVERYONE has today!!!
And they use Duke or Stoelting remote mix, pressurized pumps. But any machine subjected to heavy use will eventually become too warm making it difficult to make quality product. That’s why high volume stores have two machines or a shake machine to alleviate demand on one soft serve machine.
It has to do with 4 hour self cleaning cycles with cryptic error messages that often fail and leave the store owner wondering why..
Many stores have two machines for redundancy more than demand
Super wow. Watched it. Major news story amplifying the corruption in this nation.
McDonalds has always been Chicago based.
It’s just another example of the “Chicago Way”.
Remember after Baghdad Bob Gibbs left the Obama Admin, he went to work as a McDonalds exec?
I think they have free beer tomorrow.
I have a solution which I have employed for MANY years. If others would do the same, the problem would be self-solving. I simply almost NEVER patronize McDonalds.
That was actually extraordinarily well done.

I can’t believe I spent 30 minutes watching a video about ice cream machines, but it was a great story and makes perfect sense.
I can’t imagine what the bacteria count would be on a “self cleaning” machine. I simultaneously owned 3 Dairy Queens in the ‘70-80’s and we washed our machines daily before opening. Bought new Duke machines through Dairy Queen and never thought much of Taylor machines. As for franchisees, don’t get me started. But essentially they take your money and do all they can to contractually tie you to the corporation and their subsidiaries/contractors. But since most fast food stores are corporation owned now days I can’t imagine them tolerating planned obsolescence or stoppages that reduce sales.
Your post makes about as much sense as going to McDonald’s.
Enjoy your your food, you will need the empty nutrition.
McDonald’s Vanilla Ice Cream Cone Ingredients
Ingredients: Milk, Sugar, Cream, Corn Syrup, Natural Flavor, Mono and Diglycerides, Cellulose Gum, Guar Gum, Carrageenan, Vitamin A Palmitate. Contains: MILK.
surprisingly has milk and cream, but 2nd and 3rd ingredients are sugar, so this is basically frozen diabetes in a cone ...
maybe they have a deal with the manufacturer. I’ll admit it, I was bored.. I watched the whole thing.
basically the machine is only made for McDonalds.
It’s overly complex
it’s “self cleaning” but rather fickle
Stores are suppose to run the clean cycle at night but.. it fails.
stores try to figure out what went wrong with cryptic error codes that don’t mean anything
then it tries to “self clean” again (while the store is open)
a successful cleaning cycle take 4 hours.
all roads in the manual lead to “call a tech”
a 30 minute service call costs hundreds. after 30 it’s billed 15 minute blocks. (also hundreds)
a third party came up with a gizmo that is actually helpful in making the machine work
McDonalds and the manufacturer said “that thing will void warranties! do NOT use it!!”
McDonalds and the manufacturer come up with their own gizmo that “does the same thing” but it’s also garbage (like the machine) and all roads lead to the service tech
store owners can only use this machine. They have no options.
