Maybe. Its a crap article that is long on typical leftist journalism tactics, trying to play-up sympathy for this women, but with almost zero facts about the SAR's she leaked.
SAR's are just that - "suspicious." The banks have a system to report them to law enforcement, and its up to law enforcement to investigate using their many other various sources. No crimes have been indicated or proven.
Snowden laid out FACTS. As far as we can tell from this whole Buzzfeed series, this woman just dumped a bunch of hearsay and private banking information. Buzzfeed continues to whore out the whole thing because they are fully invested.
“No it’s not. Treason requires there to be collusion with some foreign enemy. “
Wrong. Notice the ‘or’:
“Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies,”
Good point.
But given the fact that WellsFargo committed Identity Theft on a very grand scale and got nothing, I’ll side with this lady.
The band are making money off these transactions. They’re not questioning where it’s coming from.
Reminds me of the scene in Taken when he shows up at the French spies house. Guy says he has expenses and that he doesn’t care where the money comes from. As long as his expenses are paid.
Then you figure Clinesmith committed perjury. As did the rest and they got nothing. Clinesmith is even going to keep his law license.
I think this has more to do with her exposing the wrong folks than anything else.
Where I worked leaking classified documents, of any kind would cost me several hundred thousand dollars of fines and 10 to 30 years in prison.
Lock her up and through away the damned key.
But who and what, exactly, did she expose? Banks are in the business of holding and transferring money. I have had SARs against my company - if we have a new supplier or customer in South America or the mid-east, our bank WILL call - "Is this a new business? How do you know these people?" And we know it gets reported to Fed.gov also - the banks must have a system to do so.
Imagine if I were in high level Republican politics? some self-righteous DC apparatchik and her "leaks" could give MSNBC a weeks worth of nonsense talking points.
“How sad. Told the truth and got stomped. Remember May Edwards!”
Her targets were Paul Manafort and Rick Gates.
“Her actions were stupid.”
Her actions were politically motivated.
“President Biden promised to fight corruption.
People are incredibly naive. Biden is the personification of corruption.
“She basically blew the whistle on the deep state raking in the big bucks from illegal activities managed by banks.”
Hmmm. Then why did she focus on Paul Manafort and Rick Gates?
“Never heard about this. Media never picked up on it. Imagine that.
In a sane world, Republicans in Congress would not have allowed this.
In an insane world, a group of folks would descend on the prison and get her out and she’d be treated as a hero.”
She targeted Paul Manafort and Rick Gates. Democrat hero.

“For my friends everything, for my enemies the law”.
I don’t blame the banks here. They complied with the law and filed the Suspicious Activity Reports. If the feds choose not to act when given that information, that’s on them. The Banks are not supposed to be agents of the federal government.
A strategy that works every time...
Just like the imprisonment of the J-6 rally attendees...
There will never be another non-communist rally of equivalent scope in our lifetimes...
The sniveling, cowardly sheeple are hunkered down with their eyes and ears closed...
Yeah...I thought the Feds non action was “interesting”
It mentioned 2017.
