Noble, but useless
Previously noted.
No it isn't. It should not be their goal to decide if what someone posts is true or not. If it is not true, another user can refute it.
Rots a Ruck.
Even if you spent all the money to even get it into court, the judge is probably a Leftist and biased toward Facebook.
If you have enough money to take it through appeals you might win.
But Hey, suggestion: if you have that much money and are a Patriot, why not launch a startup in competition with FB.
Hope he makes it a class action lawsuit because Facebook has harmed many lives and ruined as many conservatives as they could.
You’re pissing in the wind, John.................
Stoessel has drunk only HALF a glass of Kool-Aid.
Here’s the problem: Facebook uses “independent fact-checkers” to try to reduce fake news on their site. That’s a noble goal.

That’s the trick!
Use “independent” third parties.
Our government and other very powerful interests in this country learned this trick over a century ago. You don’t have to put out government propaganda, when you can get “news” agencies to do it for you! It works great due to the illusion of objectivity.
Facebook is employing the same technique. Dump off the role of enforcing your biases on so-called independent agents. You get to wash your hands of any direct meddling.
Sans-Culotte response: No it isn't. It should not be their goal to decide if what someone posts is true or not. If it is not true, another user can refute it.
You're absolutely right. Let everything pass unless someone makes a threat.
Dr. D’s career was pretty much ended by that slap - the WWF paid Stossel and sued Dr. D. Stossel is still here and still one of the few TV journalists I can actually respect. I’ll be cheering for him against Facebook.
Go for it John.
Stossel learned a hard lesson that day though....if your gonna say pro wrestling is fake to a pro wrestler you do it by long distance phone call.....everybody knows that!!! LOL!
It’s amazing to me how long it took for people to realize that WWF is fake wrestling.
It’s entertaining and fun but when they do the same skit in each town It’s more than obvious
The Supreme Court has ruled that lunch counters may not break civil rights laws by discriminating against people by race. What gives the Supreme Court the right to tell private businesses what to do? The Supreme Court says they get this power by the fact that, as representatives of the public, the businesses have no right to represent the public in discriminating against people. The difference between that ruling and the Facebook blowup is that speech is protected by the Constitution. Race is not.
Yup - there’s nothing fake about pro wrestling. Those guys are pro athletes putting in a lot of hard work and taking some nasty bumps in the process. Scripted - yes. Fake - no.
I worked with a guy who used to wrestle. Not sure how “pro” he was…is there a semi-pro? All I know is the guy was practically crippled from injuries due to all the body-slamming. He was in really rough shape by age 45 and looked like he was 70.
“Scripted - yes. Fake - no”
Saw a match on tv here in Fla back in the 70s. In a tag team match a wrestler came off the top rope to drop an elbow on another wrestlers arm being held by his teammate....the guys elbow dislocated for real.....that was the end of that match. Ouch
