Taiwan will fold in hours unless the USA is there with them with a guaranteed promise to help defend them and as we know that is questionable at best.
Taiwan is no match for China...not even close.
If attacked they will broker a peace.
If they were going to attack, why would they telegraph it? I suspect they want to unnerve the Taiwanese people and take over without a shot being fired.

I’m guessing they want to provoke Taiwan into a counterattack, such as knocking out one of the aircraft, then China will play the “victim” and launch a full assault.
Of course it would also work to keep running these incursions over and over to try and mask the eventual actual assault.
Taiwan knows exactly to the T how long they have to defend against China before the US arrives.
I wonder if Milley’s good buddy on the Chinese Red Army staff will call him saying “we’re invading Taiwa as we speak.”?

i suspect that none of these flights would occur if taiwan had a credible counterthreat. therefore, it may be that taiwan has no credible counterthreat. therefore, taiwan needs a credible counterthreat, and the courage to use it if needed.

Taiwan could probably make their own nukes by now. That is 75 year old technology, and throw an EMP or a Cobalt jacket on it for good measure, and while Taiwan wouldn’t survive, neither would the CCP.
