Get the patient to the hospital. He has a penetrating trauma injury. He needed trauma surgery. Not stay and play. Load and go!
Good grief the U.K.s EMS system is insanely different than ours.

The normal British practice is exactly as you describe. But the further details to have emerged are that there were so many wounds it was impossible to stabilise sufficiently to move him. The air ambulance was on the scene within minutes, but eventually took off empty.

In America, you -never- see paramedics work on someone at the scene for two solid hours. It’s shoddy work. There is nothing they can do that takes two hours. And nothing they cannot do in the Helo as it flies.
NHS mentality.
In mere minutes, you blast through tourniquets, pressure bandages, clotting powders, clamps etc, hang plasma maybe, CPR as needed which can be done AS YOU MOVE. You get him to that ER 10 minutes away by air where trauma surgeons are waiting.
Of course, they were taking him to NHS, so I doubt it’s to the emergency quality level of an American Trauma Center.

But if it was a tele convo, I can only catch every other sentence they say! LOL…….(Liverpool).
