I've noticed that leftists can commit the most appalling faux pas without any media repercussions where the mildest lapse by a Republican will bring down a storm of vituperation.
Back in the early nineties Dan Quayle made the mistake of following a teacher's guide and directing a child to use an archaic and obsolete spelling; the ridicule was endless. Obama, OTOH, made reference to the Marine "corpse" in a major address with nary a notice. I could cite examples like this all day.
The trifecta of ignorance, illiteracy, and pretentiousness.
This was in a prepared speech. Imagine if Dan Quayle had said something like this extemporaneously.

Perhaps the accounts of his absence rather than attendance at Columbia are true. Perhaps the accounts of his less than stellar performance at Harvard Law Review are also true. Perhaps his award of the Nobel Peace Prize was premature.
Perhaps his entire career has been marked by affirmative action.

Reminds me of the time Hillary Clinton was speaking to a group of blacks, and called Sojourner Truth, the “Moses of her people,” instead of Harriet Tubman. Of course the main stream media never covered it, and no prominent black ever spoke out on it.
