More likely because of the sudden concern in OK for the decades old school deaths and the same sudden concern for missing Canadian women over the past couple decades. Throw in the weirdo Native American drumming in that teen’s face. Yeah, the teen wasn’t female but it added to the racial element.

From what I understand, the way reservations work actually does make it extremely difficult to investigate and prosecute crimes committed on reservation land by someone who does not live on said reservation. Tribal law doesn’t apply to non-members. And because reservations are legally considered sovereign territory, what happens inside isn’t covered by US law.
(That is my layperson’s 3rd-hand understanding of the situation. If any legal experts familiar with the situation could clarify, I’d appreciate it.)
Unfortunately, there are those who have taken advantage of that, because they know they can sneak in, attack, rape, etc, and get away with it, as long as they only target those belonging to the tribe.
That was a sickening thing to find out about. It was told to me by a Native American friend who was studying to be an attorney. His father had been murdered by men who bragged about it afterward, because they knew they were untouchable. My friend said that things like that happened so often, it was considered just a normal hazard of reservation life.

I’m not sure the native Americans want the U.S. meddling in their reservations. It’s bad enough already. They have lived as slaves for generations. Give them freedom and let them decide what they want....or not....says my great grandfather.

Good point. Also, I suspect the fake White House the use may have lighting design to help him with his declining mental state. I know when I had a relative with Alzheimer’s Who had to be in a nursing home, they have special sections where everything from colors to the type of lighting used was done specifically to make it easier on the patients and make them feel more at home, if you will.
Good point. “feeling more at home” is also probably why Biden goes to Delaware every weekend.
This is terrible I hope that the meeting mentioned this, because it would be very difficult for a reservation force to find people who are not from the reservation to prosecute them.
