As you know Hick also commuted the death sentence of the Chucky Cheese killer, who did a senseless killing of 4, IIRC.
Ha, great minds.
Recruits?
They’d be drafted.
“With their first round pick, Colorado selects….Karl the meth head down on Central Avenue. Have fun picking those cones, Karl!”
Yes.
The sole survivor of a mass shooting in 1993 is tired of talking about the man who changed his life forever… “Every time I have to speak on this, it re-opens wounds,” said Bobby Stephens.. Nathan has received more rights and more privileges than any of the victims family’s or myself,” ..
““I had another operator tell me that she considers it a great day when nobody is seen smoking methamphetamine or using heroin on her bus”
Pro tip for libertarian conservatives and “government is the problem” Reaganites.
You won.
Now what?
RTD turned the area behind Union Station that used to be train tracks into its Downtown transit hub. AMTRACK, the DIA train, 16th St. Mall Shuttle, Light Rail and buses all use this hub, which is multilevel. This is the area the homeless have targeted. People have to use this hub if they want to use any of those transit options. Still, I would not go there after dark.
The homeless lobby have been relentless in getting judges to restrict law enforcement. They have targeted RTD's private security company. They have done everything they can to block anyone who wants to keep Downtown a safe destination.
The remodeled Oxford Hotel was nice years ago.
In a medieval-type society of two rather than three classes, the rich in walled estates rarely worry that much about thievery. Crime is written off as an intramural problem of the poor, especially when the middle class is in decline or nonexistent. Our society and nation are crumbling everywhere you look. It started in the big cities, has spread to the smaller cities, and is now bleeding into the suburbs (Portland, Los Angeles).Violent crime is now soaring in America. But two things are different about America’s new criminality.
One is the virtual impunity of it. Thieves now brazenly swarm a store, ransack, steal, and flee with the content without worry of arrest.
Second, the Left often justifies crime as a sort of righteous payback against a supposedly exploitative system.
Denver was a pretty nice city in the late 70’s when I lived there. It’s turned into a craphole like every other RAT run city.
Los Angeles cops arrested 14 suspects in connection with 11 smash-and-grab robberies - but release ALL of them because of California’s ‘zero bail’ policy..

I have friends who moved out of their loft near there because they got tired of vomit and needles in their building’s doorway.
I agree, it was great in 76. By ‘83 it was going down some and I moved to Lakewood. By ‘92 Lakewood schools were going down, moved to Littleton. By 2009, couldn’t wait to get out of the metro area altogether.
Another liberal Mecca.
I’ve had empty nester friends talk about moving into a LODO loft. I advise them to go down there at 2:00 am when the bars empty out and the homeless have settled in for the night before they buy.
Addicts get three chances to rehab before they are exiled. It is a powerful incentive.
“I guess that is what happens when you stop policing your city”
Police all you want and are able, but if the perps are back on the street before the cop can finish his paper work, what do you expect.....solution is a DA that will do its job and a bail system that is returned to practice.
Form an organization like the old Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC).
I think the old CCC men were very different from the bums and addicts that are the problem in big cities.
The camps were run by military Officers.
Take em up in the mountains.
No pushers up that high.
Let ‘em walk 40 miles to get away.
Fresh air and hard work…..a good cure.
Make the lawyers hike up to the camps. Tell em to pet the bears on their way up.
Surprisingly, inside the Amtrak stations in Portland and Seattle are pretty decent. Once you venture beyond either one though is a different story.
The camps were run by military Officers.
The people we’re talking about don’t seem to be able to abide by any rules.
