That was my fourth grade teacher back in 1960. There weren’t any behavioral problems.
Thank God we lived in Texas and our kids went to school in Texas!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our kids’ junior hi and high school had at least one cop there all the time. Texas.

> About 35% of adolescents between ages 13-22 are simply not suitable for traditional classroom type education. <
I taught in urban public schools for thirty years, and I certainly agree with that statement. And at one time those students were placed in vocational education classes, where they could learn a useful trade.
Then George W. Bush came along. His idiotic ‘No Child Left Behind’ program destroyed the trade classes. Now those kids are in advanced math and English classes instead. Those are classes those kids neither want nor need.
George W. Bush - one of the worst presidents, ever.
Understaffed. Burned out. Teachers at Sacramento high school injured breaking up fights
/\
Gee,
you mean CRT and SEL has made things worse ?
You don’t say,,,.
That’s because too many teachers were using getting hit as a way to stay out of work. They get a Dr. to write them out and the school can’t really say anything.
I could fix this. I promise.
...........give me about 5 retired Navy Seal guys and a total news blackout and I will have these little heathen’s sitting at their desks paying attention with their mouths shut in 2 days!
I would even pay for it (cost of Navy Seals, cost of treating minor injuries, equipment cost, food and drink cost).
Any idea that situations like this one can’t be managed and brought under complete control without the teachers getting physically involved is preposterous.
Yep. Also the old long apprentice programs that included much mentoring and the passing of valuable skills for the most part no longer exist. Many an unruly kid at 16 who became a plumber’s apprentice and became a licensed plumber at 23 or 25, had a much better life than some kid who was pushed through high school and college and was given a nonsensical degree in some phony subject.
> I still say that all classes should be taught by Marine drill instructors. - The unions won’t allow it. <
Most union members would love to have Marine drill instructors involved. I taught for awhile in an urban high school that had a junior ROTC program. We teachers loved the program. An ROTC kid was a good kid.
That school was a mess. But not the wing of the school that housed the ROTC classes. The ROTC drill sergeant (a retired Army sergeant) controlled that wing. He took no guff from any kid. That guy was awesome.
Lucky was the teacher who had a classroom in that wing of the school.
Will anyone ever address the family crisis in the USA?
What is “home studies”?
Sorry but a good percentage of the American people have openly embraced neo pagan, epicurean decadence. Drug use, celebrity and earth worship, pornography, hedonism, widespread abortion and the open celebration of homosexuality and its permutations are not consistent with healthy, constructive family life or communities. Any children finding themselves in that caldron don’t tend to do well.
This is the way of things at most big inner city public schools. You can’t change it, because the students didn’t learn this behavior at school. They learned it at home. Until you change that, your stuck with just weeding out the troublemakers and expelling them or sending them to alternative behavior campuses.
Knowing the area and the nature of the problem, the cause can be summed up in one word... blacks.
According to the list above, blacks are only 13% of the student body.
Don't Care.
It must be those darn “Amish youts(yes I spelled it that way).
Agree!
