“Explain then, men who played football in the 1960s thru 80s and are still fine.”
I have been saying for years that the NCAA and the NFL are going to have to make the field longer and wider. The players are getting bigger, stronger, quicker and faster. That is my opinion because the injuries are more complex and more severe.
For example, when I first started watching football in the 50s, the longest field goal was 43 yards. Now it is 66 yards.
Now there are 300 pound men running the 40 yard dash in under 5 seconds.
I think that is why injuries are more severe now.
You both are wrong. It is President Trump’s fault. Don’t you know that everything that happens is Trump’s fault. Adam eating the apple was his fault. The Flood was his fault. Hell ingrowing toenails and tooth cavities are his fault. If you do not believe it, ask the main stream media. And Global Warming is also his fault according to the main stream media.
I bet he got a recent injection.
RIP.
How sad :-( That was a great pass.
I’ve thought the same thing about basketball courts
Damn. Crazy childhood he overcame on the way to being the 2nd best receiver in Broncos history and a Super Bowl (50) champ.
Yet they are saying he did from lingering effects from a 2019 car accident, one in which the initially reporting says he had only minor injuries. And he kept playing football after that, it appears.
“Thomas died from medical complications stemming from a 2019 vehicle crash, KOA Broncos reporter Benjamin Allbright learned. He died in his home state of Georgia and had been reluctant to travel lately because of the lingering complications.”

I was not discussing why he died. I was simply expressing an opinion about the more severe injuries which are now occurring. I would not dare to speculate on why he died.
Explain then, men who played football in the 1960s thru 80s and are still fine.>>> Less/lower tech protection so they didn’t hit as hard. My Opinion.
A maximum of five years in the league with bigger salaries to compensate may be the answer to keep the carnage to a minimum. These guys aren’t going to get any smaller or slower.
Yes, it is also true of NCAA and NBA basketball. I have been thinking about the basketball court, too. ;-)
Wider and longer court, the 3-point line further out and maybe even slowly moving the basket left and right, up and down, during play or maybe lowering the basket. Otherwise, the taller players will still have the advantage.
Kepro is a life saver..
Always sad to see someone so young pass - especially a professional athlete who you’d think would be in prime physical condition. RIP.
People like Brett Favre, Tom Brady and other QBs who have had long tenure in the league and many offensive lineman as well as the players’ association would never agree to the ‘maximum of five years in the league.’
Exactly...CTE?
To be fair, it said, "... a medical issue."
Meaning: We can rule out a violent crime or suicide. So at least, there's that.
Regards,
Per this 2019 link...
...his injuries were minor.
Was he vaxxed?
