That's quite true. It's amazing how many far, far left judges, university professors, and politicians are of Ashkenazi descent.
Conservative Ashkenazi are quite rare, but I knew an Ashkenazic guy who fought with Patton's army all across Europe. The guy was conservative to the core, and loved Nixon and the USA. He hated commies. Of course his favorite movie of all time was Patton.

Two of the largest parties in the Knesset today claim to be social democrats. Yes, America's congress has a growing socialist contingent but they are a late development. Israel's socialists have been there from its founding. Israel's first PM was a social democrat, and his party morphed into today's social democratic Labor Party, which holds one seat more in the Knesset than that also social democratic party, the Meretz.
Not to mention the kibbutzes, socialist collective farms Jewish pioneers created in what would become Mandatory Palestine, and the founding of which predates the founding of the USSR.
If socialism is anathema to Jews, I think quite a few of the them didn't get the memo.
And I rather doubt you wold label me an anti-Semite since I have nothing but respect and admiration for Jews on the whole, plus I am pro-Israel and pro-Zionism. But despite that I recognize that the Jews have a disquietingly cozy relationship with socialism, if not out-and-out communism.

When the left pushes for Israel to take in the Palestinians, they know know very well the first thing that the Palestinians would do is kill every Jew that they could get their hands on.

The headline is erroneous and does not represent what Trump said. He saud that ‘many’ Jews do not care much about Israel. The headline implies he said it about all Jews.

Karl Marx was an atheist ex-Lutheran, so he would probably qualify as a gentile, especially in the mind of one poster on this board who insists than any Jew who accepts Christ as his savior can no longer be considered Jewish. Trotsky was from a Jewish family but Lenin was not.

Half of those involved in the socialistic movements since Karl Marx have been secular Jews. They love the promises of Judaism but they don’t want to be obligated to Judaism itself.
