Take good care of it.
New large gas cars are going to rocket up in price and rocket down in availability.

Poor car companies, chasing a moving fuel economy target.

You nailed it, because in Jan 2025 this whole thing changes again with a Republican administration and it’s horrible for a 3 year lead time product cycle.

I park my big PU truck in the ‘clean emissions’ parking slot.

If questioned, I plan to say: Sniff the tail pipe. Nothing is coming out.

It will be parked and off at the time.

My solution: DON’T BUY NEW VEHICLES. They’re just destroying the carmakers with this crap.

My panels make 180 kWh plus per day 220 days per year. My part of Texas has 220 days of full sun per year in a 30 year rolling average as documented by NOAA.gov the amount of power my 15,000 watt system makes is substantial do the math its 4th grade level.

A Tesla model 3 holds 75kWh and goes 330 miles on that. The average person drives 12,000 miles per year per the NHTSA

A Tesla 3 needs with the A.c. Or heat on 220 watt hours to go one mile this is well document I leased a Tesla S and it was only slightly more for a much larger car.

1000 miles per month = 220 kWh of electricity needed or slightly more than one days worth of power. Since its spread out over a month’s time that’s on average of 7.33 kWh per day. Two 450 watt panels on the shortest day of the year with its 10 hours of sunlight in N Texas could cover that energy with 2 kWh to spare. Point is modern solar panels can easily cover the yearly consumption of an EV while drawing zero power from the grid. Luddites are so funny when they throw a temper tantrum like a toddler.

Last year my panels made enough power to.cover 100% of my homes use and still export for profit enough electricity to send a larger model S Tesla over 88,000 miles NO ONE drives 80,000+ miles per year who is not a cab driver or trucker absolutely no one. The argument over EV charging is moot in the sunny parts of the U.S. You need only a few panels on a garage to cover 100% of even the above average driver double the A.c. Miles to 24,000 and you still only need 440 kWh a month that’s because EVs are second law.of thermodynamics machines and three times more efficient at moving mass down the road as first law combustion. If you had to purchase power 440 kWh at the bag in Texas of 9 cents per kWh is $39.6 that will take your EV 2000 miles or a cost per mile in fueling of 1.9 cents per mile. A.comparable sized petrol car to a model 3 is the Volvo S60 it avg fuel economy combined per the EPA is 27 personally its closer to 30 I have owner two of the S60 in turbo and none turbo forms.

To achieve a petrol cost equal to 1.98 cents per mile at a avg of 30 mpg you would need to purchase petrol at 59.4 cents per gallon. $.594/30= $0.0198 thus demonstrating with dollars why second law of thermodynamics machines will always trounce first law you simply cannot avoid Mr Carnot and his brilliant discovery of the irreversible heat loss law.
