Huma Abedin, the former longtime aide to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, said the “final straw” for her came when The Post published a photo on its front page of her husband, disgraced Congressman Anthony Weiner, sexting while lying in bed with their young son. I like the NY Post on its politics but this sentence is just plain ugly! I never went to Journalism school but using the same word twice in a sentence would have gotten me a red mark in Middle School's English class!
Consult a thesaurus PLEASE (does not have to Rogets) or just use what your computer can do with a mouse click! I get 16 variants to 'former' in that click, from one-time to 'ex-' to previous to ...!

Exactly, apparnetly in her mind as fine as long as he hadn’t been caught and exposed in the press.
She would had at least a modicum of credibility if she had given him an ultimatum right from the start to seek help, or hit the road, or filed for divorce right away once learning about what he was doing.
