It seemed logical that all Americans should leave Afghanistan before it fell given the nature of the people who would take over.
If the Russians take over, I don’t see the urgency to leave Ukraine unless I was a foreign agent or a military advisor. I don’t see any irrational hatred of the Russians toward Christians, teachers, or businessmen like one saw in Afghanistan. I wish we had been wiser is our dealings with Russia in the last 30 years and would be currently wiser and not overreact.

Please clarify and spell out what you mean. What is "FR's position" you are referring and why do you think it "will not age well"? Post like that can trigger a flame war and excessively incendiary threads, and those never help.
