Do you really put the Baltic States in the same threat category for Russia as Ukraine? I completely dismiss that premise. If you check historical invasion routes into Russia and the comparative military capabilities involved, I think you’d dismiss it as well. You make an excellent point though. We fought the Vietnam and Korean War to stop the very same domino effect you’ve reminded me off. I appreciate your spotting that aggressive, expansionist and extremely destabilizing policy of NATO, considering its reason for existence hasn’t been around for thirty years.

How about the route every Russian knows about in great detail, Hitler’s run through the Ukraine. Today Ukraine has two armored brigades that have been sitting on the Russian border. They have 7 artillery brigades. The day after Ukraine has been admitted to NATO, NATO has these resources sitting on the Russian border with pretty much unlimited reserves. Can’t you see how dangerously provocative this would be? Why would we want to do this? I’m sorry Ukraine is in this position it has been in the last three hundred years. I’m sorry for Syrian Christians, the list is long. We are talking about NATO, which is Germany plus what, 70% of world GDP as allies. Like I’ve said before, would we allow 2 Warsaw Pact armored brigades sitting in the deserts of Chihuahua? Hell no, we wouldn’t have tolerated it. Where was the world outcry when Biden, Obama and the US State Department was raping Ukraine economically and using it as their personal vassal state, and probably still are? Is that what everyone is so anxious to screw around with a potential WWIII over, keeping the US corrupted Ukrainian oligarchs in power?

I do support the common Ukrainian who doesn’t like being bombed, strafed and shot at. They didn’t have a choice.
Russia made their decision to attack. They are solely responsible for that.
I’m pretty sure Russia will prevail. However, I do believe the Ukrainians will offer a Resistance that will last a long, long time.
I do not know the long-term effects of all this. No one really does. It just doesn’t seem good to me.

The Ukraine is no different than a hundred other areas in the world. I used to support every war the neocons put in front of me, no longer. We should not have been destroying Iraq and Afghanistan for twenty years to help out their abused little guys. Speaking of little guys, how many trillions do you want to add to my grandsons’ national debt to help out these Ukrainian little guys? The worst possible thing that could happen in Ukraine is a long resistance from the Ukrainians. The slaughter of Ukrainian little guys would be epic. Contrary to Zelenskyy’s lies, he knows the dire situation he is in. So far the conflict has been relatively bloodless and will remain so as long as the cease fire talks continue. In the end the Ukrainian little guy will continue to be abused by corrupt Ukrainian oligarchs. The only difference will be the new oligarchs will be propped up by corrupt Russian strongmen as opposed to corrupt American democrat strongmen.
