I have heard this indirectly from people on the ground who are traveling through the Russian lines, and are being solicited for bribes of money or food to pass through. The stories that I am hearing from non political folks mirror the fact that the Russian troops are young, inexperienced, and were not told a good story as to what the hell they were doing there. I suspect that the morale is getting lower by the day.

20% of Russians aren't ethnic Russians but Tatars, Turks, etc. Not surprised a Russian mostly conscript army would have an even higher percentage of these ethnic minorities.

Why not ask instead why the invading Putin isn't putting a stop to this? He's the one who is invading another sovereign country.
